TEF Canada Writing: Complete Guide
Understand the current TEF Canada written expression format and how to prepare for both sections.
The current official TEF Canada format gives written expression 60 minutes and divides it into two sections. Section A asks you to continue an article with a minimum of 80 words. Section B asks you to express and justify a point of view with a minimum of 200 words.
Section A
Read the prompt carefully, identify the situation and continue it coherently. The task is not a summary. Your continuation needs new information that fits the context.
Section B
Build a visible argument. State your position, explain your reasons, support them with examples and use a conclusion that follows from what you wrote.
Time management
The official allocation is 25 minutes for Section A and 35 minutes for Section B. Practise with the same split so that timing becomes automatic.
