TCF Canada Speaking

TCF Canada Speaking: Complete Guide

Understand the three-part TCF Canada oral expression format and how to practise interaction and spontaneous production.

The current TCF Canada format has three oral expression exercises and a total duration of 12 minutes, including preparation time as specified by France Éducation international.

Practise three different modes

Do not train every task as a monologue. Build a directed interview habit, an interaction habit and a spontaneous opinion habit. The ability to respond to the other person is central to oral communication.

Useful production moves

  • Ask for clarification.
  • Give a reason.
  • Give a concrete example.
  • Compare two possibilities.
  • Express agreement or reservation.
  • Rephrase when you lose a word.
Keep building your French.
